What is SOC 2

SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a security framework developed by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). It defines criteria for managing customer data based on five Trust Services Criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. A SOC 2 report is issued by an independent auditor who evaluates whether an organization’s controls meet these standards.

BackupMaster’s SOC 2 certification

BackupMaster is SOC 2 certified. An independent auditor verifies that BackupMaster’s security controls meet AICPA standards for data security, availability, and confidentiality.

Continuous monitoring

Compliance is maintained through Vanta, which continuously monitors BackupMaster’s infrastructure and security controls. This ensures that controls remain effective between audit cycles.

Annual audit

An independent auditor conducts a SOC 2 audit each year. The audit evaluates BackupMaster’s controls against the AICPA Trust Services Criteria.
